Excursion to the Ingapirca Ruins with Lunch

See the Virgen del Rocio church, an example of 20th century Gothic architecture. Visit an indigenous family and learn how a Panama hat is made.

Finally, visit the archaeological site of Ingapirca and the nearby museum.

The archeological site of Ingapirca is located 80 kilometers north of Cuenca.

We start our tour by visiting the "Virgin del Rocio" church in Biblian (on Wednesdays).

Its architecture shows a very interesting gothic style from the beginning of the 20th century.

We will continue our trip with a visit to an indigenous family's home, for a knitting demonstration of the Panama hat.

This hat is the main handicraft of the country and forms an important income for the native people from the southern part of Ecuador.

Finally, we will visit the archeological site of Ingapirca to see buildings such as "Cañaris" and "Incas" and visit the nearby museum.

After this we will have lunch and return to the city of Cuenca.
